Boat of the Show: Judges' Special Award

The Judges' Special Award this year went to a young man about whom we are sure to hear a lot more: Bevan Randell, builder of the Spectrum 8 Metre.

Bevan started this boat when he was just 19 and only halfway through his BITO apprenticeship. He completed that apprenticeship in November last year and finished his boat just a few weeks before the 2009 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show. It is an incredible effort by a young man with a very bright future in the marine industry.
